Code of Practice
 

Purpose.
The purpose of this code of is to foster and maintain high standard of workmanship within the ACCI network for the mutual benefit of consumers and technicians.

Requirements.
Technicians will undertake and pass such training courses as are required by the Australasian Carpet Cleaning Institute. (hereafter referred to as ACCI)

In order for ACCI to endorse or recommend technicians those technicians must use equipment and materials and work practices which meet a minimum requirement set by AS 3733-1995 and ACCI.

Members are required during the period of their membership to take out and maintain Public and Products Liability Insurance with an approved insurer, to cover all sums which may become legally liable to pay as compensation consequent upon:- 1/. death of, or bodily injury (including disease or illness) to any person and 2/. Loss of damage to property. Happening anywhere in Australia arising out of or in connection with your business or the use of it's products. The limit of liability by this policy must not be less than $5,000,000, and as such policy must include a cross liability clause.

Only ACCI logos approved and / or supplied by ACCI can be displayed on technicians clothing, vehicle, stationary and advertising. Use of the logo is restricted to the term of membership and is to be removed from display immediately upon expiry of membership.

Technicians will seek full particulars for customers of the service to be undertaken, expected difficulties with the work, and any time constraints that are imposed by that are imposed by the customer prior to the commencement of work.

ACCI technicians will not engage in 'bait and switch" marketing tactics. The customer is to be advised and agree to the cost of the service prior to commencement. If any difficulties are anticipated that may cause the cost to increase during the course of the service then these are to be explained and agreed to by the customer before the service is commenced.

Technicians will refer as necessary to the ACCI any unusual or potential difficult task, and seek guidance from ACCI as to the best method of undertaking that service.

When a technician expects that, because of the poor condition of the carpet and or upholstery item that an other than satisfactory cleaning result will be obtained, then the technician will fully explain that to the customer prior to the commencement of the service so that the customer can be given the opportunity to consider the service to be undertaken.

Any and all customer complaints will be dealt with promptly and to the mutual satisfaction of all parties.
